Seahawks’ Adam Gase interest could be big Jamal Adams problem

Jamal Adams seemed to enjoy his first season with the Seahawks more than his time with the Jets as he finally made the playoffs.

But a ghost from his Jets past could soon give Adams a reason to look elsewhere for his big payday.

The Seahawks have talked to fired Jets head coach Adam Gase about their vacant offensive coordinator position, according to ESPN. Seattle recently fired OC Brian Schottenheimer, who was the Jets’ OC from 2006-2011.

A reunion with Gase would likely not be a welcome sight for the 25-year-old Adams, who trashed Gase before the safety was traded to Seattle last year amid a contract dispute. Gase admitted last month that he was “surprised” Adams ripped him publicly because he thought the two had a good relationship.

Gase was fired by the Jets after a miserable 2-14 season which began with 13 straight losses, and the Jets have since hired 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh to replace him. Adams is under contract through the 2021 season.
