NEW DELHI: Last year in August, Samsung confirmed 3 generations of OS upgrades to Galaxy S series, Galaxy Z series and Galaxy A series of smartphones. Now, it appears that the company is planning to increase the OS upgrades for its smartphones.

According to the popular tipster Evan Blass, Samsung is planning to increase the OS upgrades for its smartphones from three years to four years. As per the leaked press release of Galaxy Tab S8, Samsung is said to offer 4 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security upgrades to its smartphones.

The leak also mentions the list of smartphones, which are eligible for 4 years of OS update and 5 years of security updates.

Galaxy S series: Galaxy S22 Ultra, S21 Ultra, S22+, S21+, S22, S21, S21 FE
Galaxy Foldable devices: Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, Z Flip3 5G
Tablets: Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, Tab S8+, Tab S8

If the information is true, then the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will get OS updates till Android 16.

Meanwhile, Samsung is all set to launch its flagship Galaxy S22 series. The company has scheduled the Galaxy Unpacked event for February 9, where it will launch the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones. The company will live stream the event on its official website and YouTube channel of the company.
