France’s Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut saved a match point in the Montpellier final to lift their first title of the season. Herbert and Mahut, seeded at No. 1, edged out Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliovaara 4-6 7-6 (3) 12-10 in the Montpellier final.
No break points were seen until the 10th game, when Glasspool and Heliovaara broke Herbert and Mahut to win the first set. After losing the first set, Herbert and Mahut earned their first break of the match in the fifth game.
Herbert and Mahut failed to serve out for the second set in the 10th game as Glasspool and Heliovaara broke back and managed to force a tie-break. Herbert and Mahut got off to an early 5-0 lead in the tie-break, before realizing their third set point to force a decider.
Glasspool and Heliovaara were 9-7 down in the match tie-break but then won three consecutive points to save two match points and earn their first match point. Herbert and Mahut stayed focused after blowing two match points as they responded by winning three consecutive points to complete a comeback win.

Herbert and Mahut didn’t play at the Australian Open because Herbert didn’t want to take the vaccine before the season. Elsewhere, Rohan Bopanna and Ramkumar Ramanathan beat Luke Saville and John-Patrick Smith 6-7 (10) 6-3 10-6 to win Pune.
Saville and Smith saved two set points, before realizing their fourth set point to win a tight opener. Bopanna and Ramanathan responded by breaking Saville and Smith twice in the second set to force a decider. The key moment of the third set was when Bopanna and Ramanathan won six points in a row to take a 9-4 lead.
Bopanna and Ramanathan realized their third match point to complete a comeback win. Elsewhere, Santiago Gonzalez and Andres Molteni won Cordoba after beating Andrej Martin and Tristan-Samuel Weissborn 7-5 6-3. Gonzalez and Molteni blew an early first set break but broke Martin and Weissborn again in the 12th game to win the opener.
After winning the first set, Gonzalez and Molteni claimed the first break of the second set in the sixth game. Gonzalez and Molteni blew three match points in the eighth game but served out for the match in the ninth game.
