Demi Lovato and Valerie Bertinelli spotted filming ‘Hungry’

Demi Lovato and Valerie Bertinelli appear to be having a blast while filming their upcoming NBC comedy, “Hungry.”

The actors, who play a mother-daughter duo on the show, were spotted flashing big smiles in-between takes at Hollywood’s Griffith Park in LA on Wednesday.

Lovato, who identifies as non-binary and uses “they/them” pronouns, was photographed rocking their new pixie hairdo, a striped blue and pink shirt, black leggings and black boots. Lovato, 28, were also seen with a clear shield mask around their neck.

Meanwhile, Bertinelli, 61, was also dressed in casual attire with a dark top, oversized sweater, black and gray leggings and sneakers.

It appears they may have been filming a scene involving exercise or some sort of physical activity as their co-stars were also wearing workout clothes.

According to Deadline, “Hungry” follows “a group of friends who belong to a food-issues group helping one another as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better.”

Lovato plays Teddy, a food stylist who is trying to have a healthy relationship with food while dating men. Bertinelli plays her mom, Lisa, who is a restaurant owner and has had her own issues with weight.

Like their on-screen characters, Lovato and Bertinelli have openly discussed their issues with food.

Last week, Bertinelli released an emotional video on Instagram, slamming internet trolls who called her out for gaining weight.

“Because see, I don’t have a scale or I don’t have clothes that I’m trying to put on every day, and I don’t have mirrors so I don’t see what’s become of me,” she said sarcastically, holding back tears. “So I needed that help to let me know that I need to lose weight.

The celebrity chef received support from her fans, which comforted the former “Hot in Cleveland” star. She told her followers, “Thank you. There’s so much kindness out there. I certainly do not feel so alone anymore.”

Lovato, for their part, have spoken very publicly about the fact that they have struggled with an eating disorder for years.

The “Heart Attack singer once shared that their old manager worsened their eating disorder by hiding food and sugar from the singer and didn’t even allow them to eat cake on their birthday for years.

Although they are in recovery, Lovato recently got into a high-profile feud with a frozen yogurt shop called The Bigg Chill after they felt triggered by their sugar-free products.

However, once The Big Chill clarified that the items were labeled that way to aid customers who are diabetic, vegan, among other food intolerance-related issues, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer said it was all a misunderstanding.

They said in June in response to the backlash they received, “It was me talking about something I was very passionate about pertaining to the diet culture, and I realized that because I was so passionate … I let my emotions get the best of me and it didn’t allow me to explain where I was coming from as easily as it would have been on a podcast.”
