Giants to hold Fan Fest at MetLife Stadium

For those fans disappointed at not being able to attend practices at Giants training camp, there is one day this summer when they will be able to see their team in action. The Giants will hold a Fan Fest on Aug. 11, starting at 6 p.m. at MetLife Stadium.

It is a free event, featuring an open practice, autographs from Giants legends and a post-practice fireworks show. In addition, fans will be able to purchase discounted concessions and apparel items at the stadium.

It will be the first time Giants fans will get to see their team live since Dec. 29, 2019 — the regular-season finale against the Eagles at MetLife Stadium.

“From our players, to our coaches to the entire front office, we could not be more excited about welcoming Giants fans back to MetLife Stadium,’’ Giants’ chief commercial officer Pete Guelli said.

The Giants are taking what they believe is the prudent approach as far as not having fans at their practices. It takes time to assemble the bleachers and organize the necessary staffing to hold training camp with fans in attendance, and with COVID-19 regulations and protocols in flux, the timing did not work out to get everything in order by the July 27 start of camp. It was deemed not possible to welcome in a crowd while also adhering to New Jersey and NFL COVID-19 guidelines.

The Giants will host an open practice in August.

The Giants this year are losing four practices at their training facility, as they will hold joint workouts with the Browns (in Berea, Ohio) and Patriots (in Foxborough, Mass.)

The Giants hope to host joint practices next summer, creating a special experience for their fans.
