Election Commission rolls out digital voter ID card: All you need to know from how to download, features and more


On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, the Election Commission of India recently rolled out digital voter ID cards.

These are the digital version of voters photo identity card called e-voter card and will be available to download in an un-editable PDF format.

Here’s everything you need to know about the electronic voter ID card.

The e-voter card is available in PDF format which cannot be edited. It can be self-printed and laminated by the voter when required.

The e-voter cards will eliminate the need for a voter to get a new card made each time there is a change in address or other details.

Digital voter ID cards can be downloaded on your mobile phones, computers or any other device with support for PDF files.

They can also be stored in digital lockers.

New electors registered during special summer revision 2021 who applied for voter card in November and December last year will receive an SMS and can download e-voter card from the e-EPIC website till January 31.

Other electors will also be able to download their copy of e-EPIC from February 1, 2021. But, they need to have a mobile number registered in the e-Roll. Else, they will have to get the KYC done before downloading the e-voter card.

e-voter card: How to download
The e-voter card is available to download via voter portal, voter helpline mobile app or NVSP website.

To download from voter portal head to voterportal.eci.gov.in and login. Then click on the Download e-EPIC option. After this, enter your EPIC number of Form Reference Number

After this, enter OTP received on your registered mobile number. If you don’t have a mobile number registered in enroll, click on e-KYC and complete it.

Once done, click on download e-EPIC
