Casablanca and New Balance Unveil the XC-72

Charaf Tajer’s Casablanca has presented its Fall/Winter 2021 collection, providing a first look at the French brand’s latest New Balance collaboration. After debuting the 327 during their FW20 show last year, Casablanca now debuts another new model, the XC-72.

Casablanca worked alongside New Balance footwear designer Charlotte Lee to create the new silhouette, who also designed the 327 model. The XC-72’s shape is inspired by Formula One racing, a theme used throughout Casablanca’s FW21 collection. Building off design elements from the 327, the XC-72 features a stripe that runs down the toe box, extending all the way through the outsole. This stripe separates the outsole into two sections. The medial features the circular nubs found on the 327, while the lateral side features a more rugged pattern.

The shoe was previewed in the signature orange, green, and white color scheme of the Casablanca x New Balance 327, along with an all-white and a red/yellow colorway. While Spring/Summer 2021 will see new Casablanca x New Balance 327 colorways and the debut of the 237, the Casablanca x New Balance XC-72 is slated to launch in Fall/Winter 2021.
