'Not many people are as engaging and charismatic as Roger Federer is', says manager

In addition to being considered one of the greatest tennis players in tennis history, Swiss Roger Federer is often appreciated for what he does off the court. He cares a lot for other tennis players and has never held back when it comes to helping other younger players, perhaps providing them with advice which has always proved to be very valuable.

The 20-time Grand Slam title champion will also be remembered as the most popular tennis player ever, far more so than the great rivals of this era Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. The former world number one has not participated in a tennis match for months now and his last official challenge dates back to the 2020 Australian Open semifinal, the one he lost against world number one Novak Djokovic.

About ten days ago Roger Federer announced that he will not participate in the Australian Open 2021, thus giving up the Australian trip for the first time in the last 23 editions. Federer’s super team not only includes his family, his coaches and his support staff, but also his agent Tony Godsick – who is known as one of the shrewdest minds in tennis.

Godsick on Roger Federer

Together, Roger Federer and Tony Godsick have also created Team8, a sports management agency that is behind the wildly successful Laver Cup event. It is therefore not surprising that there’s a tremendous amount of mutual respect and admiration between the pair – as acknowledged by Godsick himself.

“Roger is an extraordinary human being as it relates to relationships,” Godsick said. “Not many people are as engaging and charismatic as he is. He makes it fun”. Each and every single fan is desperately waiting for the Australian Open 2021 just because of one reason.

It is believed that the great Roger Federer would return to the court after a year at the Grand Slam. The excitement of the tennis world is at an all-time high and they want to welcome the Swiss Maestro with open hands. Federer caught up with a knee injury at the Australian Open last year.

The semi-final against Novak Djokovic was the last professional tennis match that he played. After that, he underwent two knee surgeries during the long break due to the coronavirus pandemic. The injury didn’t allow the legend to step on the court for the entire season.

However, just when the Australian Open 2021 is a month away, Federer gave some unfortunate news. The 20-time Grand Slam winner decided to withdraw from the Grand Slam. It is undoubtedly a heartbreaking moment for fans. However, they realize that Federer can make a comeback anytime soon.
