WWE sending the Young Bucks a cease and desist letter might have been a work

Last night’s (Jan. 6) episode of AEW Dynamite ended with the Young Bucks participating in a Bullet Club reunion with Kenny Omega, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. This was evident when all five men raised their fingers up high for a group “Too Sweet” hand gesture.

In 2017, that simple hand gesture was at the center of a report that WWE sent Matt and Nick Jackson a cease and desist letter over its usage. The Young Bucks are the consummate pro wrestlers, so of course they capitalized on the situation by making a boatload of money off some pretty sweet ‘Cease and Desist’ merchandise, and also worked it into their promos.

Well now that the Bullet Club is seemingly back together, the pro wrestling community is reacting to the angle, and this has brought the infamous cease and desist letter back to the forefront. Here is NJPW’s Bad Luck Fale and Tama Tonga alluding to it on Twitter:

I love that lie? Huh?

I feel like a jabroni mark right now. Is this just another example of a worker working a shoot into a work, or was the shoot never a shoot to begin with?

Shoot straight with me in the comments below, Cagesiders. What do you make of Tama Tonga’s claim about the cease and desist letter?
