Follow-up events will be held on Sept. 11 and Sept. 25 in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
The Aug. 28 fight card will feature the inaugural Combate Americas flyweight championship contest between world-ranked Juan “Leadfeather” Puerta (18-6) and three-time Combate Americas fight winner David “The Farmer of Destruction” Duran (8-6).
“As live sports return to television, Combate Americas is going to utilize this closed set studio series to deliver something that fans have never seen before and that will bring them closer than ever to the action from their screens,” said Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren.
To help combat the spread of coronavirus, Combate Americas will administer COVID-19 testing for all athletes, officials and staff prior to the events in accordance with the new Florida State Boxing Commission requirements.
The Combate Americas broadcasts will feature on-camera interactions with a host of different celebrities, along with fan polling and voting, as well as a social media ticker to give viewers real-time conversations about the events.
Combate Americas is expected to announce additional dates for its live event series in the coming weeks.
