Not only did Jim Miller walk into the Octagon for a record-tying 35th time earlier tonight (Sat., June 20, 2020) at UFC on ESPN 11 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the lightweight veteran also made quick work of rising prospect Roosevelt Roberts via first-round submission (armbar).
Miller was able to immediately gain top control to start the fight as Roberts launched a kick and was taken to the ground. The UFC veteran worked well to keep Roberts on his back while pushing the action along the cage. As Roberts went to stand back to his feet Miller was able to trap an arm and extend. Roberts lasted for a brief moment before verbally tapping.

With this performance, Miller gets back into the 155-pound win column after dropping a tough decision loss to Scott Holtzman back in February. Miller has arguably never looked better over his past couple of fights — turning in a 3-1 record since the start of 2019 — and may have just earned himself a chance at the division’s top 15 his next time out.
